Welcome to the Old Town Veterans site
This is a MediaWiki Site for all Old Town (Maine) veterans from the Revolutionary War era to the War in Vietnam. Here we take an Old Town veteran to be anybody who lived in Old Town or the Old Town Area (Indian Island - Milford - Bradley - Alton - Argyle, but not Orono) right before or after their service OR anybody who profiled themselves as a veteran of war while living in Old Town or the Old Town Area.
The site is part of the site of the Old Town Museum and will be maintained by volunteers at the Old Town Museum. For now, we are not planning on giving everybody with relevant information editing access without some vetting. However, if you would like to be involved in this project, please contact the museum at oldtownmuseum@gmail.com so that we can set you up with an account. Also, if you have suggestions and/or corrections for a particular entry or if you would like to request an entry for somebody, please feel free to contact us at the same address.
Note that this is a project in its very early stages. Ultimately this site will probably contain between 3000 and 4000 entries.
